Hydraulic scale for forklift trucks
The operator lifts a load to the reference height mark at about 80 cm above floor level. He then presses a button on the indicator and the system will automatically lower the forks by approximately 15 cm. During this controlled descent, the display counts down from 4….3….2….1…. while the software calculates the weight and then shows it in the indicator display.
The RAVAS RCS Plus has a dynamic zero value. In fact this display value reflects the oil pressure in the mast’s hydraulic circuit when the forks are unloaded. After unloading the forks the display value returns to the zero point, providing the operator with actual information on a possible drift of the calibrated system’s zero point during use. Zero point drift can occur as during the use of the forklift truck the oil in the mast warms up which influences the pressure in the system and the zero point calibration accordingly. The dynamic zero value provides this information to the forklift driver. A possible zero point drift can easily be corrected by doing a zero weighing and restoring the zero point.
Please note: The installation of the T-piece, the oil pressure sensor and other parts of the hydraulic scale will not be carried out by RAVAS, but must be done by the lift truck dealer! This installation must be completed prior to the visit of the RAVAS technician. The RAVAS technician will do the installation of the indicator, the connection to the power supply as well as the calibration.
*Warning: the 0.2% tolerance can only be guaranteed if the truck mast is in good condition and the weighing system is used correctly. Rolls and bearings in the mast should be properly lubricated. During weighing, the mast should be in vertical position, the load should be placed in the centre of the forks.
